Bibilov instructed the Cabinet "to be prepared for any development of the situation"

South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov instructed the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee to "be prepared for any development of the situation."

The border of South Ossetia with Russia will remain closed until May 31

The government of South Ossetia on Thursday adopted a new resolution providing for the extension of the state border crossing procedure from April 10 through the multilateral checkpoint "Ruck" on the border with Russia until 23.59 minutesб May 31, 2020. Previously, the ban on crossing the state border through the checkpoint "Ruck" was valid until May 1.

The decision notes that all measures taken are subject to special circumstances and are exclusively temporary.

Anatoly Bibilov on the Dzau earthquake on April 29, 1991

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov addressed his compatriots in connection with the next anniversary of the tragedy that took place in the Republic on April 29, 1991 - an earthquake in Dzau district.

“A destructive earthquake took place in South Ossetia 29 years ago. 59 people became the victims of the strongest tremors, dozens were injured, the Dzau district center along with all the infrastructure was destroyed. As a result of the natural disaster, the village of Khakhet turned out to be under a landslide.

20 citizens from Russia will return to South Ossetia during a week

In the course of the week, 20 citizens of the Republic will return home from North Ossetia-Alania, Foreign Minister, Dmitry Medoev, said at the meeting of the headquarters for preventing the penetration of coronavirus.

“Ten people are arriving today. There are children among them. The next group will arrive on Thursday,” Medoev said.

According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, another 57 South Ossetian citizens who want to return home have applied to the Consular Agency.
