Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia
Last Thursday, June 21, 2012 in St. Petersburg started the XVI International Economic Forum, which will last for three days. The event was attended by several thousand people, including a delegation from the Republic of South Ossetia, consisting of the Minister for Foreign Affairs David Sanakoev, Acting Minister of Economic Development Alexei Khabalov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev.
The main topics of this forum will become a debt crisis in Europe, the impact of the "Arab spring" on the global economy, as well as the prospects of nuclear power after the disaster at the reactor "Fukushima-1" in Japan. The participants of the forum also plan to discuss the development of the Caucasus, the Far East, the implementation of the innovation cluster in Skolkovo, the situation in the raw material markets.
The South Ossetian delegation visited the expositions of the forum participants and took part in the session and in the discussions being held on the forum sites.
