The draft Strategy of socio-economic development of South Ossetia to 2030 has been approved at today`s meeting of the government of the Republic, chaired by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov.
Minister of Economic Development Zalina Khugati has made a report on this issue, noting that this is the basic document, pursuing which will take place the process of further economic development of the Republic.
"Strategy for socio-economic development is a vision of our Republic and the solving of complex economic issues currently facing our state," - said Khugati.
According to her, at the beginning of this year, the Government of the Republic approved the concept of socio-economic development of South Ossetia to 2030, which has become the base of the corresponding program.
"Later it was developed a medium-term program for socio-economic development, which was approved by the government - said Khugati. - Our goal is to develop economic instruments by which we can plan the future development of the Republic. All development projects, including the Strategy, being approved by the government, will then be considered by the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia. After some funds are approved on a medium term program for socio-economic development, we will submit the document to the Parliament of South Ossetia."
Based on the submitted document the minister spoke about the prospects of development, the fundamental tasks of economic development of the Republic, noting the development of agriculture and industry as priority areas.
After discussion, the draft Strategy was approved unanimously, taking into account the comments. Leonid Tibilov instructed the Ministry of Economic Development to finalize the document, as well as to pre-familiarize the South Ossetian parliament with it.
