Results of the visit

The Head of State Anatoly Bibilov has expressed confidence that all plans outlined during the visit will be implemented.

"During the negotiations, we discussed all possible directions for the development of relations between the republics, we also shared our experience of the financial and tax component. We paid great attention to the issues of economic development. During the negotiations, the question of the possibility of reviving the "Ossetia" sanatorium in Abkhazia was also raised. It would be nice if the residents of South Ossetia could have a rest there in summer and improve their health.

Since the range of issues discussed is very large, it is necessary to exchange experience in important areas. Joint activities between our structures, including military exercises, are not excluded, especially since an agreement on military cooperation has already been signed, " Bibilov said.

President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania has noted that the events of August 2008 in South Ossetia showed the whole world that Russia does not leave its friends in trouble.

“The world, unfortunately, has not become more humane and we need to share experience and information. In fact, we are experiencing many similar problems and a common approach. This is a more likely chance for solving these problems. Anatoly Ilyich was talking about the problems he faced, and I got the feeling that he was talking about the Abkhaz history. We have a lot in common, so we were discussing how to use our interaction more effectively to solve the above problems, "Bzhania said.
