The action "Fire of Memory - 2022" will be held in South Ossetia on the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported to the “Res” news agency by Minister of Culture of the Republic Zhanna Zasseeva.
“On May 7, the Fire of Memory will be brought to South Ossetia from Moscow. It will be delivered by representatives of the People's Front "For Russia" and the winner of the All-Russian competition of volunteers, the chief pediatrician of the Morozov hospital. They are bringing us a fire that was lit at the Eternal Flame, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,” the Minister said.
The Minister of Culture has clarified that the start of the action will start in the settlement of Dzau.
"We are staying in the village of Dzau, we are opening a branch of the Immortal Regiment there, a memorial plaque to the participant of the Great Patriotic War Lento Slanov. The memorial plaque was brought to us by one of the main peacemakers – Kazbek Friev. It was prepared in Volgograd, together with the Issa Pliev board," she has noted.
Zasseeva said that during a speech by a representative of the veteran movement or the headquarters of the Immortal Regiment, the capsule is divided into three lamps - one lamp is transferred to the headquarters for storage.
“The capsule is delivered from Dzau to the city of Tskhinval. A meeting will be held on the main square, it should be a conversation so that Nazism does not revive even in a small manifestation. Nazism must be destroyed in the bud. Let's remember our countrymen who gave their lives defending their Motherland. Then we install this capsule near the Eternal Flame, and in the evening, we will transfer it to the National Museum for eternal storage. This fire cannot be extinguished,” Zasseeva has stressed.
23,736 people left South Ossetia for the front, 11,700 died, more than 7,000 went missing. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded to 36 Ossetians.
