On August 8, South Ossetia will host a presentation of the film “Hakhta avdisanta” (Mountains – the eyewitnesses) directed by Grigory Mamiev about the genocide of Ossetians from the 20s to 2008.
As Grigory Mamiev told the “Res” news agency, the documentary film had been prepared by the AllonFilm film studio for the 100th anniversary of the genocide of the Ossetian people.
“The theme of the film is very sorrowful. It tells about the trials that our people had to go through, we present the facts that testify to the genocide of Ossetians with a hundred-year history. In the center of the plot of the story are the well-known historical figures - Ruten Gagloev and Mate Sanakoev," Mamiev said.
According to him, to build the plot of the film, were used the interviews of historians - Kosta Pukhaty and Kosta Dzugaev, as well as Ruten Gagloev's granddaughter - Bella Gagloeva.
The script for the film was written by Yulia Bestaeva.
Earlier it was reported that the events dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the 08.08.08 war would be held in South Ossetia on August 7-8. The action of memory will be held at the memorial complex "Defenders of the Fatherland", as well as a thematic exhibition, a visit to the place of death of the defenders of the Republic, mourning services in the temples of South Ossetia.
