On Thursday, at the session, deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia unanimously supported the appeal of the chamber of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the parliaments of the countries of the world on the need to strengthen the regime of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on Their Destruction.
The question was brought to the session by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Zaza Dryaev.
“The Chambers of the Federal Assembly of Russia express their extreme concern in connection with the aggravation of risks for the biological safety of the population of all countries of the world without exception. In the recent past, civilization has already faced the consequences of the irresponsible handling of dangerous bioagents. The published scientific studies indicating the possible artificial origin of a new corona virus infection (COVID-19), which caused a deadly pandemic, clearly confirm the critical nature of such risks and threats to humanity,” the head of the Committee has explained.
