On Tuesday, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with People's Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, a conductor Valery Gergiev, the press service of the head of state reports.

Tours of the Mariinsky Theater under the direction of Valery Gergiev are being held in Vladikavkaz as part of the Leading Theaters project.

Valery Gergiev greeted Alan Gagloev and told about the concert program.

“Usually we performed in America, China, Europe, but now at home, in Russia, there is a lot to do. I am pleased that we have multiplied the number of young ballet dancers, performers and musicians. They show good results.

We are also closely monitoring what is happening in the zone of the special operation. Tell us how things are in South Ossetia,” Gergiev said.

Alan Gagloev thanked Valery Gergiev for the invitation.

“First of all, I would like to thank you for the invitation. On behalf of the people of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I want to express my gratitude for your activities, I would especially like to note the concert held in Tskhinval in 2008. It means a lot to our people. Next year, 15 years later, we will be glad if you come to support the people of South Ossetia and perform. The Parliament building has already been restored and it will be symbolic,” said Alan Gagloev.

“Our fighters are on the front lines. Today they, shoulder to shoulder, are defending the interests of our common Motherland. Unfortunately, it is not without losses. I want to note that for the younger generation, your position on what is happening around the special operation and Russia is exceptionally correct and is the example of patriotism and service to the Fatherland,” the head of state has concluded.

Further, the conversation was held in a closed format.

Alan Gagloev also visited the opera "The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which opened the "Grand Tour" of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladikavkaz.
