Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioev, sent a note of condolences to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots of the Syrian Arab Republic, Faisal al-Miqdad, in connection with the terrorist attack in Homs.
“It was with a feeling of deep sorrow that I received the news of the terrorist attack in Homs, where as a result of the attack on the military academy there were casualties, including among the civilians.
South Ossetia, which has repeatedly been subjected to acts of terror by Georgia, strongly condemns this crime,” the note of condolence says.
The Syrian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that a bomb-laden drone attacked a military school in Homs during a graduation ceremony for cadets. According to the latest data from the Syrian Ministry of Health, at least 89 people were killed and 277 were injured. The Syrian Foreign Ministry demanded that the UN and the UN Security Council condemned the attack. The Syrian government declared three days of mourning for the victims of the terrorist attack.
