The State Security Committee of South Ossetia has once again noted cases of provocations from the territory of Georgia on the state border.

According to the department's press service, on February 15 in the vicinity of the village. Lower Okona, Znaur district, two Georgian citizens, while intoxicated, illegally crossed into the territory of South Ossetia and damaged the engineering structures used in the protection and security of the interstate separation line.

“The violators recorded their illegal actions on a mobile phone camera, probably for reporting to the curators of the pro-Western non-profit organizations that are instilling the so-called “European” values in the region, including the LGBT values, and making attempts to destabilize the situation on the eve of election campaigns in South Ossetia and Georgia. In connection with this destructive activity, these violators were detained by the South Ossetian border authorities," the department has emphasized.

The KGB has noted that the acts of vandalism on the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia are direct manifestations of the policy of “eroding” the South Ossetian-Georgian border and call into question Tbilisi’s commitment to the search for a peaceful dialogue.
“The KGB has once again reminded that all possible directions of penetration of violators of the state border of the Republic are in the control zones and sectors of influence of the border forces of South Ossetia,” the statement of the press service reads.
