Alan Gagloev and Sergei Kiriyenko discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation in Moscow

A working meeting between the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko took place in Moscow.

During the talks, the key areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the Republic's socio-economic development and the implementation of joint projects.

As noted at the meeting, a decision was reached to increase salaries for employees of the South Ossetian Prosecutor's Office. The increased payments are expected to begin in the first half of this year.

Oleg Bartsits received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed South Ossetian Ambassador

The Abkhaz Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed South Ossetian Ambassador to Abkhazia, Astamur Katsia, the Foreign Ministry press service reports.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Odyssey Bigvava and the Head of the Strategic Cooperation Department of the Foreign Ministry Dzhemal Bganba.

During the meeting, Oleg Bartsits has noted that cooperation between the two fraternal states is developing in the spirit of alliance, partnership, and friendship.

Tskhinval bid farewell to Gennady Kokoev, perished in the special military operation

South Ossetia paid last tributes to Gennady Kokoev, perished during the special military operation.

The Republic's leadership, led by President Alan Gagloev, members of Parliament, led by Speaker Alan Margiev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, the soldier's family and friends, and his comrades attended the funeral.

Kokoev's heroism and courage were noted during the funeral rally.

South Ossetia bid farewell to Tamerlan Kozaev, perished in the special military operation zone

Тskhinval has paid last tributes to Tamerlan Kozaev, call sign "Fortuna," who died during the special military operation.

The Republic's leadership, led by President Alan Gagloyev, members of Parliament, led by Speaker Alan Margiev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, family and friends, and the soldier's comrades-in-arms attended the soldier's final farewell.

Marat Kulakhmetov noted Tamerlan's exceptional courage during the fighting.

The border stability and humanitarian issues: results of the 66th round of the Geneva Discussions

The situation along the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia was assessed as stable during the 66th round of the Geneva Discussions. This was reported by the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry following the talks.

On March 19, 2026, the 66th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia concluded at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva. The discussions were held on the basis of the Medvedev-Sarkozy Plan of August 12 and the agreements on its implementation of September 8, 2008.

The South Ossetian and the Nicaraguan diplomats discussed strengthening bilateral relations during the online meeting.

Diplomats from the two countries discussed the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and Nicaragua during the online meeting.

The meeting, whith participation of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev and the Nicaraguan Co-Foreign Minister Valdrac Jentzke, was initiated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who is currently in New York, and Nicaraguan Ambassador to Russia and South Ossetia Alba Torres Mejia also participated in the discussion.

South Ossetia paid last tributes to Stanislav Pukhaev, a hero of the special military operation

Stanislav Pukhaev, who had died heroically in the line of duty during the special military operation, was laid to rest in South Ossetia.

Hundreds of residents of the Republic, along with the country's leadership, led by President Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, comrades-in-arms, and the hero's family and friends, came to share the grief of the deceased's family.

Buried alive: Znaur Gassiev reminded the International Community of the atrocities perpetrated by the Georgian bands against Ossetians

South Ossetia's Ambassador to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, sent the appeal to the international community in connection with the 35th anniversary of the Ered tragedy.

According to the Embassy's press service, the documents were sent to the heads of all diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, as well as to the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of Switzerland.

The appeal highlights the tragedy as part of a long line of unpunished criminal acts and genocide against the Ossetian people committed by Georgia.
