South Ossetia's Ambassador to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, sent the appeal to the international community in connection with the 35th anniversary of the Ered tragedy.

According to the Embassy's press service, the documents were sent to the heads of all diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, as well as to the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of Switzerland.

The appeal highlights the tragedy as part of a long line of unpunished criminal acts and genocide against the Ossetian people committed by Georgia.

Servicemen from the 33rd Airborne Forces Regiment have previously sent a video message to Alan Gagloev asking for assistance in resolving logistical issues on the front lines.

Chairman of the Government, Dzambolat Tadtaev; Chief of the Presidential Executive Office, Alan Alborov; members of Parliament; Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia, Marat Kulakhmetov; Mamiev's family and friends; as well as his comrades-in-arms attended the funeral.

This event will mark the beginning of work on the memorial complex dedicated to the victims of one of the largest tragedies in Ossetia's modern history, according to the Republican commission for the preparation of nationally significant events.

The events will take place at the intersection of the Tskhinval-Dmenis highway and the bypass road.
