The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has taken part in the ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the 50 anniversary of the International Public Foundation «Russian Peace Fund», taken place in the Hall of Columns of the Union House in Moscow. As the news agency "Res" has been informed at the press-service of the President and the government of the RSO, at the beginning of the meeting the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Alexander Beglov has announced a greeting of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
The General Secretary of the United Nations Pan Gi-Mun and the General Director of UNESCO Irina Bokova have addressed the video appeals to the participants of the action. The greetings of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov have also been announced. Then the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and the Whole Rus Cyril has addressed to the participants of the meeting. For the dynamic activity on spiritual revival of Russia, the large contribution to the development of peacemaking and inter-confessional dialogue the members of the Board of the «Russian Peace Fund» –the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and the Whole Rus Cyril, the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gajnutdin, the Main rabbi of Russia Adolf Shaevich- have been awarded with the anniversary gold medals of the Russian Peace Fund. The awards have been handed over by the Chairman of the Board of the Russian Peace Fund Leonid Slutsky. The official part has come to the end with a charitable concert within the limits of the cultural-social project of the Foundation «Music of children's hearts».
