The Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia is preparing for organization the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in the territory of South Ossetia. As reported to IA "Res" by Consul of the RF Embassy Tamerlan Zasseev, the day of the presidential elections in Russia, on March 4, 2012, 12 polling stations will be opened for the Russian citizens in South Ossetia.
"Compared with the Russian Federation State Duma elections held in December, 2012, the number of polling stations in South Ossetia will increase, - Zasseev has specified. Four polling stations will be opened in Tskhinval and by one election centers will be created in the districts of the Republic. The ambulatory electoral commission will also be organized to the villages Tsinagar and Orchosan in Leningor District of South Ossetia; another three polling stations will be established for employees of the 4th Military Base Defense Ministry and the Border Guard Agency of the FSS of Russia in South Ossetia." Zasseev has noted that the lists of voters in South Ossetia for the upcoming elections on March 4 are made on the basis of their attendance in the December State Duma elections. "We are putting voters on the voting lists in advance, in order to facilitate and expedite the election process, and we hope that the turnout will be higher than in the Russian Federation State Duma elections, taking into account that the number of the polling stations will increase this year". According to Zasseev, for comfort of the voters, each polling station in Tskhinval will be assigned to certain town districts and streets. "Posters, stating four polling stations with a list of assigned urban streets will be hung in the capital of South Ossetia - Tskhinval," - the diplomat has underlined. The consul thanked the presidential administration of South Ossetia, the heads of the districts of South Ossetia, and the CEC of South Ossetia for their assistance in resolving the issues related to preparations for the presidential elections in Russia.
