The situation in the village of Zardiantkari (Georgia), where yesterday the Georgian Interior Ministry placed a police post, keeps tense.
As reported to IA "Res" by Presidential Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, Georgian police is still strengthening its post in this village, which is inhabited by the Ossetian population.
The Envoy Plenipotentiaryhas stressed that the area of the village is in the zone of responsibility of the EU observer mission.
"They were informed about by the South Ossetian side, and we make every effort to settle the situation. Tomorrow at our request will be held an emergency meeting of participants of Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI), "- said Dzhioev.
It should be reminded that yesterday the residents of Zardiantkari appealed to the authorities of South Ossetia, frightened by placing a Georgian police post just in the middle of the village.
The South Ossetian side has reacted immediately by demanding to hold an emergency meeting of the MPRI on July 1.
