In order to ensure the safety of citizens of the Republic and stability in the region, the KGB border service has launched the next phase of a humanitarian operation in the vicinity of the village of Uista (Tsnelis) in Znaur district by the decision of President Anatoly Bibilov, the KGB of the Republic reported on Thursday morning.
“In order to prevent provocations of the Georgian side on the section of the South Ossetian-Georgian border in the vicinity of the village of Uista, the KGB combined a group of border guards occupied a height of 944.8, which is dominant in this section of the border, restored the state border ьфкл and raised the flag of South Ossetia on the border with Georgia,” – reported the KGB of the Republic on Thursday morning
The intelligence service has noted that the humanitarian operation is exclusively peaceful.
“The actions of the South Ossetian border guards do not pose a threat to residents of the border. Settlements Kobe and Chorchona and are aimed at maintaining the border regime, ensuring the security of citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia living in the border zone of Znaur district, and stabilizing the military-political situation in the region,” says the statement of the KGB circulated in the media
The KGB has noted that by designating the state border line of South Ossetia, the South Ossetian border guards, who together with the Russians guard are protecting the borders of the State of Alania, guarantee peace and stability.
They have emphasized that from August 23 to the present, under the protection of Georgian Interior Ministry units, the works continue on equipping the illegal roadblock of the border police on the spur of the Kaprebis-Sery Range.
“Georgia’s provocative actions are aimed at the annexation of part of the border territory of South Ossetia, including the western part of the village of Uista (Tsnelis) and the environs of the former Yugostalk plant. The security threat to the Republic’s residents is growing, as evidenced by the incident with the shooting of the Prosecutor General’s quadcopter by the Georgian forces,” the KGB said.
