While many Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices around the world are facing challenges, in fraternal South Ossetia the work is built on a solid foundation aimed at strengthening cultural and historical ties. This was stated at the press conference by the head of the Russian House in Tskhinval, Sergei Komissarov.

He has noted that the Russian House will focus its efforts on educating a new generation in the spirit of common spiritual and moral values and in-depth study of the common history.

"Unlike working in the Western European countries, where colleagues face numerous obstacles, in South Ossetia, which is not just a friendly country for Russia, but practically a brotherly nation, we have no obstacles to our activities," Komissarov has noted, emphasizing that these unique relations are directly reflected in the work of the representative office.

According to him, therefore, the main focus of the representative office's work in the Republic is on strengthening ties and ensuring that the new generation knows the common history better, thereby laying the foundation for continuing and strengthening future relations. As part of this strategy, the Russian House is actively implementing the "Hello, Russia!" program, where children deepen their knowledge of geography, regional studies, the Russian language, and also meet their peers from other countries. For slightly older people, aged 18 to 40, the "New Generation" program is available during the spring, summer and autumn.

As noted by Komissarov, a special emphasis in the activities of the representative offices this year is on strengthening international ties in connection with the celebration of the centenary of the people's diplomacy.

"As is known, the first prototypes of Russian Houses appeared in Europe back in 1925. As part of this significant event, a global meeting of compatriots from different countries is planned in Moscow in the fall, at which meetings with the highest officials of the Russian state will possibly be organized," he has noted.

In addition to strengthening spiritual and moral values, the most important priority in South Ossetia is deepening the knowledge of the younger generation about the common history. Traditionally, active support for the Russian language continues.

"This is expressed in holding competitions, educational events and, most importantly, in replenishing school funds with fiction. According to Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic, the schools have already reached a decent level of provision with educational literature, and now we are focusing on fiction," Komissarov has clarified.
