The jubilee 20th International Festival "Peace to the Caucasus" ended on Saturday in Maykop with a large gala concert. This year, it gathered participants not only from Russia, but also from Turkey, Syria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, TASS was told by the Deputy Minister of Culture of Adygea Aminat Soobtsokova.
The unifying power of art
Festival "Peace to the Caucasus" was founded in 1996. Its ideological inspiration was the musician, conductor, art director of the Mariinsky Theater, People's Artist of Russia Valery Gergiev. The first festival, the purpose of which was the preservation and development of the country's original cultural heritage, was held in Vladikavkaz, then the baton was transferred to other regions of the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts.
Music for Peace
The festival will be continued on Friday and Saturday with musical performances by folk groups. Among them are the state Nogai folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Ailanai" from Dagestan, the folklore state ensemble of song and dance "Magas" from Ingushetia, the ensemble of folk instruments "Sarmatians" from South Ossetia, the folk dance ensemble "Sharatyn" from Abkhazia, the Kuban Cossack choir, Ingush singer, soloist of the State Philharmonic named after Akhmet Khamkhoev Khava Yevloyev and others.
Concert venues have unfolded in all corners of the republic
The festival brought together not only art masters, but also scientists and cultural figures who discussed issues of the development of the industry, preservation of the national language, traditions, and education of youth. During the festival in Adygea, at the coordinating council for culture and art, representatives of the ministries of culture of the regions of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District talked about aspects of the development of the theater movement, the creation of national cultural centers and the implementation of the national project "Culture".
According to participants, perhaps now the festival will be renamed from "Peace to the Caucasus" to the "World of the Caucasus." “Cultural workers can do what politicians have failed over the years. This is the power of art. We have nothing to share, but we need to share - bread, joy, everything that a person is rich in,” explained the honored art director of the Adygea National Theater Art Worker of Russia Kasey Khachegogu.
