The information that it is possible to cross the state border bypassing the checkpoint, but with the approval of local authorities, is fiction, the purpose of which is to discredit the activities of the South Ossetian authorities, the KGB of the Republic reported on Thursday.
“On November 22, 2019, the information resource “Echo of the Caucasus” (a project of the American publication “Radio Liberty”) published an article by Murat Gukemukhov entitled “Who was blacklisted by the KGB?,” in which the author, blindly obeying the desire to discredit the activities of the South Ossetian authorities by any means , has declared the creation of a "black list", once in which a person is unreasonably deprived of the right to obtain a pass. The author of the article intentionally ignores the Decree of the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia on February 26, 2014 No. 21 "On some measures for the organization of crossing the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia in a simplified manner ", which establishes the procedure for issuing passes to citizens of South Ossetia for crossing the border in a simplified manner," the statement of the Committee said.
The KGB states that the protection of the South Ossetian-Georgian state border is carried out in strict accordance with the border legislation of the Republic of South Ossetia, which excludes any possibility of crossing the state border bypassing the established crossing points.
