137 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in South Ossetia in two days

In South Ossetia, in two days, 309 people have been tested for COVID-19, 137 tests showed a positive result, the Republic's chief sanitary doctor Marina Kochieva told IA “Res”.

“137 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in South Ossetia in two days. Recovered citizens - 63, and 185 people who had contact with sick people have been removed from the register of medical institutions,” Kochieva said.

In South Ossetia, 11 people have died from the complications of the coronavirus and its consequences.

Since April of this year, about 7 thousand tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the PCR laboratory of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee. In the Republic, all secondary schools and educational institutions are closed for two weeks due to cases of coronavirus, seasonal SARS and influenza.

On the instructions of the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, Ministry of Defense of the Republic sent a letter to the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation with a request to send a military field hospital to the Republic.

On October 27, a military field hospital with 150 beds arrived in Tskhinval to treat patients with coronavirus infection. To combat COVID-19, it has everything you need: ventilators, intensive observation monitors, X-ray machines, ultrasounds, blood analyzers and a PCR laboratory.
