The State Security Committee of South Ossetia is forced to state that the special services and law enforcement agencies of the Tbilisi regime maintain a course of confrontation and the creation of provocative situations on the state border. This was reported to IA "Res" on Wednesday by the press service of the KGB.
"So, on the evening of May 2, four residents of the settlement of Amdzarin traditionally held memorial events on the day of Easter at the Ossetian cemetery in the vicinity of the settlement of Dzukatykau, Leningor district. Due to the fact that the cemetery is located near the state border, after a while a police patrol drove up from Georgia, whose employees tried to provoke them to violate the state border by insulting the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia," the press service said.
The KGB has noted that not succumbing to the provocation, the citizens of South Ossetia were forced to interrupt the memorial events, leave the territory of the cemetery and report this situation to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic.
"After the arrival of the border officials of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Georgian police, realizing the impossibility of carrying out further provocative actions, left in the direction of the Georgian settlement of Khurvaleti," the agency's interlocutor said.
The Secret Service has stated that despite the great Christian holiday, the Georgian side once again did not refrain from provocations and attempts to create a conflict situation on the border.
The State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia calls on residents of border settlements to objectively assess the actions of the Georgian nationalist forces, not to succumb to their provocations and to report to the competent authorities of the Republic about all prerequisites for conflict situations at the border in order to take appropriate response measures.
