Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia is working on the development of a new system of strategic planning in the economic sphere, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of the Economic Development of the Republic Dzambolat Tadtaev told the IA “Res”

“Together with a Russian scientific organization, the current strategy of socio-economic development of South Ossetia until 2030 is being analyzed, and amendments will be made based on the results of the analysis and formulated proposals,” he stressed. “We are already at the homestretch in the work on this document, and soon it will be sent for coordination with the interested state authorities”.

The Minister has emphasized that at the current stage, the government has identified the “agro-industrial complex” (AIC), “tourist and recreational complex” (TRK) and “industrial complex” as especially important or priority areas for the development of the national economy.

“The selected triad has already a certain developed basis for further functioning and development. And, of course, the development of the agro-industrial complex occupies a special place in this triad. It is this complex that plays a more important role in ensuring not only food security, the importance of which is growing both in the republic and in the world.

In the conditions of modern South Ossetia, the development of the agro-industrial complex is the most effective tool for ensuring cultural, demographic, geopolitical security, strengthening social stability, social unity and the country's sovereignty,” Tadtaev said.

According to him, at the same time, the Republic faces financial and resource constraints in its development.

“Therefore, the government is working on attracting private capital, creating favorable conditions for investors in the tax and customs sphere, simplifying legislative restrictions, building infrastructure, etc.,” he stressed.

Dzambolat Tadtaev has noted that the main goal of the current legislation in the investment sphere is to protect the rights and interests of an investor in South Ossetia.
