The unfolding hostilities in Ukraine are of deep concern to all residents of South Ossetia, people with pain in their hearts are following the news about the losses among the armed forces and civilians. This is stated in the statement of the Communist Party of the Republic.
“Russia had been long warning and tolerating NATO's step-by-step expansion to the east. Despite the assurances of Western politicians that the North Atlantic bloc will not move to the borders of the USSR, the military infrastructure of NATO is located in all European countries, its military facilities tend to be located in the former republics of the USSR - the Baltic countries, Georgia, and, most dangerously for Russia, in Ukraine. Thus, a belt of forces hostile to Russia appeared near the borders of Russia, posing a threat to the immediate existence of its statehood,” the statement says.
The communists point out that in the event of aggression by the NATO bloc, Russia actually does not have the opportunity to quickly respond and repulse the forces of aggression. The West has identified Ukraine as the main platform for attacking Russia.
“At the same time, it is observed how, with the help of puppet regimes - proteges of the West, the propaganda of Russophobia is purposefully carried out among the population, the creation and planting of its negative image in the world community. In particular, in Ukraine, through the pro-Western puppet regime, the pro-fascist ideology of Stepan Bandera is being revived, the people of Ukraine are being directly incited against Russia and its peoples, hatred towards it. A policy of complete eradication of the Russian language is being carried out, mainly in the Russian-speaking country. Especially aggression was directed against the population living in the DPR and the LPR. For 8 years, these areas were being shelled by artillery mounts, civilians, including children, were killed,” the statement says.
The authors of the text have reminded that in 2014 South Ossetia was the first to recognize these republics.
“On the initiative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Republics of Donbass were recognized, but despite this, the shelling not only did not stop, but, on the contrary, became tougher. A purposeful policy was pursued to destroy the statehood of the country. It is liquidated the largest left movement in Ukraine - the Communist Party. On the conscience of the Bandera authorities in Kyiv is the complete defeat of the enemy in Ilovaisk and Debeltsevo. More than 40 people were burned alive in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa, a significant part of which are communists and Komsomol members of Ukraine. And now, finally, the hour of reckoning has come. Having shown determination and political will, Russia sent troops to the territory of Ukraine to conduct a special operation to denazify and demilitarize the country,” the communists say.
The Communist Party of the Republic of South Ossetia declares its full support for Russia's actions and hopes for the speedy advent of Peace in Ukraine: "Prosperity and well-being to the peoples of Ukraine!".
