Created at a critical for the country time, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia played an important role in the formation of the modern South Ossetian state, becoming an integral part of the modern history of the Republic, according to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia on the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Foreign Ministry.
“From the moment of gaining independence, the Foreign Ministry had to actively engage in the struggle for the recognition of the right of the people of South Ossetia to their own statehood. It was especially difficult to represent the interests of the country against the backdrop of unprecedented political pressure and international isolation, in conditions of non-recognition, the threat of armed conflicts.
The ideals and principles that have become the foundation of the statehood of the young country, the right guidelines and reliable allies have led the Republic to international recognition and approval as a democratic rule of law, striving for the heights of creation and progress," the Foreign Ministry said.
It was noted that today South Ossetian diplomacy, relying on accumulated experience and traditions, is making a significant contribution to strengthening the country's foreign policy positions for dynamic internal development, ensuring its rightful place in the regional and international context.
"At all times, real patriots were working on the path of foreign policy, they were working for the common cause, including, if necessary, with weapons in their hands. To date, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia has managed to form a close-knit and professional team of like-minded people devoted to their professional debt.
The Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia continues to implement its tasks as intensively and consistently as possible, responding in a balanced and timely manner to new challenges and changes in the modern world political architecture.
