President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev awarded the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Republic of South Ossetia" to the outstanding Soviet and Russian archeologist, Doctor of History, Professor Vladimir Kuznetsov, the press service of the head of state reports.
The high title of the famous scientist was awarded for his great personal contribution to the development of Alan studies and many years of fruitful research activity.
On behalf of Alan Gagloev, the State Award was presented to Vladimir Kuznetsov by the Director of the South Ossetian Research Institute, Robert Gagloev.
“I have been entrusted with a special mission, Vladimir Alexandrovich, let me present you on behalf of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev with a certificate to the badge “Honored Scientist of the Republic of South Ossetia” and express special words of gratitude and appreciation to you on behalf of the head of the South Ossetian state,” he said.
One of the oldest representatives of the field of historical science, who has been doing a lot to study and highlight the issues of the material culture of the peoples of the Caucasus, Vladimir Kuznetsov is the author of more than 200 scientific works, of which 27 are monographs.
Most of them are devoted to the Alania material and spiritual culture, in general, the history of the Alans. Today the scientist turned 95 years old.
