South Ossetia is not indifferent to what is happening in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, and we show this by our participation in the special military operation,” MP David Sanakoev said in a commentary to the “Res” news agency.

“Our volunteers went to the Donbass back in 2014, and since then they have been participating in this fight on the side of the defenders of Donbass. In addition, our state was the first to recognize the independence of the DPR and the LPR. We show our solidarity with these republics in every possible way,” Sanakoev said.

The deputy has noted that now almost the whole world, except for a number of countries, has turned against Russia. He has stressed that South Ossetia is supporting its friend and strategic ally in its decisions.
“We are witnessing global changes. The world will no longer be the same. Now it is being decided what kind of world we will live in. The changes will affect not only Russia, but also South Ossetia and practically all countries. Today, representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance say that this is a war between Russia and NATO, and if Russia wins, then NATO will lose. On the other hand, they deny their active participation in this process. Here the picture emerges very clearly: there are two camps; at the center of one is Russia and all the countries that support it. And in the other camp - the world that opposes it. And South Ossetia undoubtedly is supporting Russia. We show it in words and in deeds in every possible way. We have long outlined our position in relation to our strategic partner,” the parliamentarian has stressed.
Sanakoev expressed hope for the speedy completion of the special operation.

“We don't want the guys to be brought home in zinc coffins. And our hope is for the speedy completion of the special operation. I hope that other countries that have the opportunity to influence the situation will take real steps to stop this bloodshed by using the international mechanisms created for this. As we can see, today and for the last decades, these mechanisms are being ignored by the US and its allies,” he said.

The parliamentarian has also noted that, given the processes taking place around, South Ossetia should be ready for a threat from outside.

“There are active processes around us with a clear aggressive attitude towards us from Georgia. Europe and the United States are pushing it to take aggressive steps. It is difficult to make predictions, but we must be prepared for the worst possible scenarios. To do this, we need to increase the level of our security, and I think that the country's leadership should respond promptly to such challenges,” he said.

Sanakoev has stressed that now the security of our country should be the primary task of the leadership of South Ossetia, noting that "we should not forget that we have a state right under our noses that wants to attack us at the first opportunity."
