The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy, Mauro Murgia, organized a protest action in Rome against the EU decision on non-recognition of Russian passports issued in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia, the action took place on Sunday in front of the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.

"Participants of the action came to the building of the Ministry with the flags of Russia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as the republics of Donbass," the press service said.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy has noted that the ban on freedom of movement is a form of racism and shameful discrimination not only on a political but also on an ethnic basis.

Mauro Murgia has also stressed that South Ossetia and Abkhazia have been experiencing unfair international isolation for many years, which Italy can break through by taking action to recognize these republics.
