The KGB has released the data on the South Ossetian border violators for 2023 three quarters

Over the nine months of 2023, 376 violators were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia. Of these, 156 violated the state border regime, 219 violated the border regime, the press service of the State Security Committee of the Republic reported on Friday.

The KGB Border Service conducted investigations on each fact of violation.

“As a result, 221 people were subjected to the administrative fine, six people were expelled from the Republic with a fine, 16 people were expelled without penalties, 105 were warned, ten criminal cases were initiated, inquiry is underway for 14 citizens, administrative proceedings against four people were terminated,” - the press service listed.

The KGB Border Service reminds citizens and guests of the Republic, including tourist groups, as well as persons arriving in South Ossetia for religious holidays, of the need to carry identification documents (passport, service ID, birth certificate for minors, and for foreigners citizens - also passes to the border zone) when traveling and staying in the border zone of the Republic of South Ossetia.
