Representatives of Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia took part in the III International Conference on the problem of the spread of extremist ideology, organized by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the press service of the law enforcement agency reports.
The conference was attended by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - the head of the criminal police, police colonel Erislav Mamiev, and the head of the department of legal support and international cooperation, police colonel Artur Siukaev.
“The event participants discussed the experience of their countries in countering extremism, as well as the main trends in international cooperation in this area.
At the forum, a meeting took place between the head of the criminal police, Erislav Mamiev, and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General of Police Andrei Ivanovich Khrapov, the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Lieutenant General of Police Oleg Vladimirovich Ilyinykh,” the statement of the press service reads.
During the meeting, Erislav Mamiev told about the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia to counter extremism. He noted that between Russia and South Ossetia, through the Joint Information and Coordination Center, close cooperation has been established in the law enforcement sphere, including in combating extremism and banditry.
The event took place in Moscow on September 26 and 27 at the World Trade Center. It was attended by more than 40 representatives of law enforcement agencies of Russia and foreign countries, experts from the Russian Presidential Administration for Public Projects, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Roskomnadzor, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation, employees of educational organizations of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States, representatives of the SCO and the CSTO.
