Professor of the South Ossetian State University Teimuraz Kokoev was invited to speak as an honorary speaker at the World Congress on Advances in Plant Science and Plant Biology.

A large-scale scientific event will be held in Amsterdam (Netherlands) from March 31 to April 1.

At the Congress, Teimuraz Kokoev will present a report on the topic of "Environmental Safety and Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources in the Central Caucasus".

President Alan Gagloev took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Kutuzov and Suvorov Orders 4th Guards Vapnyarsk-Berlin Red Banner military base, the head of state's press service reports.

During the ceremonial rally, the head of state congratulated the command and personnel of the base on the significant date.

The competition among firefighting and rescue units from friendly countries started in Belarus on Thursday. The South Ossetian delegation is headed by Deputy Minister for Emergencies, Colonel of the Internal Service Germagen Tedeev.

On Friday, South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev received the head of the Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Pliev.

According to the press service of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry, Alan Pliev informed the Minister about the socio-economic situation that had developed in Transnistria in connection with the energy and humanitarian crisis, and about the counterproductive policy pursued by official Chisinau.
