Anton Lopatin, an observer from the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, highly praised the organization of the presidential election in South Ossetia.
"Today is an important day for South Ossetia—the presidential election is taking place. It is no exaggeration to already congratulate the Republic's electoral system on the successful organization of the voting," Lopatin has stated.
According to him, a festive atmosphere prevails at the polling stations, and the commission members are demonstrating professional competence.
The expert particularly noted the implementation of new electoral initiatives, specifically the "UIK-Info" system.
"This has made it possible to provide citizens with comprehensive information about the ongoing election and to update voter lists," the observer has emphasized.
Lopatin also drew parallels with Russian practices.
"A similar project, 'InformUIK,' is being implemented in Russia and has established itself over several years as a standard for conducting elections," he said.
Lopatin highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between the electoral systems of Russia and South Ossetia. The two sides actively exchange experience and participate in election observation in each other's territories.
