From October 8 to 11, Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Alan Alborov will pay an official visit to the Russian Federation. Together with the Speaker of the legislative body, a delegation of deputies, which has included representatives of all the parliamentary factions, has left for Moscow.

According to the press service of the Parliament, during the visit a historic agreement will be signed between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

According to Alan Alborov, the signing of the new agreement was initiated by Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.

“As part of the new agreement, it is planned to create a high inter-parliamentary commission, which will include vice-speakers of the legislative bodies of the two countries. This format will make it possible to promptly and constructively resolve all the issues with the direct involvement of top officials in the executive power structures,” Alborov said.

As emphasized by the Speaker, during the visit the delegation of the South Ossetian Parliament intends to discuss a number of the issues relevant to the Republic.

“Issues of border crossing, including delays at the checkpoints and the problem of importing cars, are raised by our parliamentarians every time in the format of the inter-parliamentary commission, we will focus on them again. Recently, new difficulties have emerged - increased customs duties, fuel prices, etc. On all these problems, the top leadership of the Republic is negotiating with Russian partners; the issue of fuel prices and customs duties is being resolved. We, in turn, will be working out mechanisms for responding to such situations on the part of representatives of the legislative bodies of the two countries. I think that the creation of a permanent high commission will allow us to promptly respond to emerging challenges,” Alborov said.

During the official visit of the parliamentary delegation there will also be a meeting with the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
