South Ossetia has received with a sense of deep sorrow the news about the attack by the Israeli armed forces on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, as a result of which there are human casualties among the staff of the consular institution, as well as among the Syrian citizens. This is stated in the note of condolences of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots of the Syrian Arab Republic Faisal al-Mikdad.
“Any form of use of force against buildings enjoying inviolability, as well as personnel of diplomatic missions, in accordance with the conventions on diplomatic and consular relations, as well as civilians, is unacceptable,” the telegram says.
The day before, the Israeli forces attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria. The building was completely destroyed, killing everyone inside. Among them is General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who commanded the IRGC's elite Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria.
