South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
In his congratulatory address, Dzhioev has noted that on September 9, 2008, a new page was opened in the history of the two peoples, a solid foundation for allied trusting relations was created, "which reflect the desire of the countries to comprehensively support each other and protect universal values in the name of peace, freedom and justice.
"All these years, clear, balanced and coordinated interaction between the foreign policy institutions of South Ossetia and Russia has contributed in every way to the expansion and deepening of bilateral strategic partnership and the intensification of integration processes," the text reads.
It should be reminded that 16 years ago in Moscow there was a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev.
On this day - September 9, the heads of the foreign policy departments of the two countries, 2008, exchanged notes on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia.
