There are positive changes in the issue of border violations by the EUMM (European Union Monitoring Mission) observers, Egor Kochiev, Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement and yjr head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM said, following the 124th meeting within the framework of the IPRM.

He has noted that, although the positions of South Ossetia and Georgia on a number of issues are diametrically opposed, mutual understanding has been reached with the international representatives, in particular, on the issue of violations of the state border by representatives of the European Union Monitoring Mission.

“Judging by the responses of the international representatives, the reaction of the head of the EU Monitoring Mission and the EU co-chair at the discussions in Geneva, this issue will most likely be resolved positively, since no violations by the Mission have been recorded after the problem was voiced. This inspires cautious optimism that the issue will have a positive outcome,” he said.

Security issues were raised at the meeting, including violations of the state border and airspace of South Ossetia. Particular attention was paid to the most important issues for the Republic and incidents occurred since the previous meeting.
