Over the past period, South Ossetia has recorded the over flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from Georgia. This was reported by Yegor Kochiev, head of the South Ossetian delegation, while sharing with journalists the results of the IPRM meeting held on Thursday in the village of Ergnet.
According to Yegor Kochiev, the South Ossetian side carefully records all such incidents, but a full investigation requires the most accurate data possible.
"One UAV over flight has been recorded. There are likely more, but we need precise data: the flight direction and the depth of penetration into our Republic's airspace," Kochiev has noted.
The head of the delegation discussed in detail the recent incident near the village of Tsinagar, where a manned aircraft crossed the border.
"A light aircraft violated the South Ossetian airspace by flying over the territory of South Ossetia. This issue was raised at today's meeting due to the hotline having been activated earlier," he said.
According to the Georgian party's response, the violation was not intentional.
"The Georgian party has reported that the pilot of the aircraft was immediately contacted, after which he immediately changed the course and exited the Republic's airspace. He may have gone off course," Kochiev added.
