Officers of the Border Service of the State Security Committee of South Ossetia have summarized their work for the first nine months of 2026. During this period, 283 violators of the border legislation were detained at various sections of the state border, the KGB press service reports.
According to the agency statistics, 78 violators of the state border regulations and 203 violators of the border regulations were detained. Two more people were detained for disobeying the lawful orders of the border officials.
Investigations have been conducted into each identified incident.
"Based on the inspection results, 144 offenders were given preventative measures, 109 were fined—272,500 rubles were collected for the state, 14 offenders were deported from the republic, criminal cases were initiated against seven people, investigations are ongoing in seven cases, and proceedings in two cases were terminated," the press service reported.
The Border Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia has reminded residents and visitors of the Republic planning trips to the border settlements (including vacations or participation in public events) of the need to carry identification documents (passport or birth certificate for minors).
Foreign citizens also need passes to visit the border zone, which can be obtained at the following addresses:

The agency has warned that intentional disregard for theestablished legal regulations will result in administrative or criminal liability. All potential entry points are under the strict control of the Republic's border forces.
