Russia has been and remains South Ossetia's primary security guarantor, and the existing agreements between the two countries ensure a unified defense and security framework, Acting Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev has stated during a press conference in Tskhinval.

Commenting on Russia's continued support for the Republic in the areas of defense and security, Dzhioyev has noted that it is part of the existing agreements between the two countries.

According to him, this cooperation includes both a unified defense and security framework and separate agreements between the relevant agencies.

"History itself shows that Russia has been and remains our primary security guarantor. We remember this very well from 2008 and from the events that have occurred in our recent history." "The agreements we have in place certainly address defense and security issues," Dzhioev said.

He has emphasized that some security cooperation is not always public, but, according to him, it demonstrates Russia's readiness to continue providing South Ossetia with the necessary support.

"I can once again assure our fellow citizens, residents of the Republic, that South Ossetia currently faces no threat from any external enemy. Russia has been and remains our guarantor," the Acting Foreign Minister has stated.

Dzhioev also noted the importance of consolidation within the Republic to ensure stability and counter any potential challenges.

According to him, the security and stability of South Ossetia are guaranteed by Russia.
