The law-enforcement officers of the Znaur district police department of South Ossetia detained a violator of the state border, the press service of the Interior Ministry reports.

“A resident of the Gori district of Georgia illegally crossed the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia on a tractor last night near the village of Nikozi and headed towards Znaur district, where he was detained by a patrol squad of the district police department,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported.

The date of September 9, 2008 marked the beginning of the fundamentally new stage of bilateral relations filled with the spirit of alliance and mutual trust, according to the congratulatory message of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Tuesday marks 17 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The State Song and Dance Group of South Ossetia "Simd" and the State Song and Dance Ensemble of Adygea "Islamey" will perform in Tskhinval with a joint concert, the press service of the Ministry of Culture reports.

"The concert will take place on September 19 at the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater and is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia," the press service has noted.

The program will include the best numbers of the Ossetian and Adyghe song and dance art.

The athletes from South Ossetia will take part in the XVII International Boxing Tournament dedicated to the memory of the first President of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov.

The event will be holding from September 8 to 14 in the Chechen Republic, the press service of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports reports.

“Alexander Tibilov and Dmitry Bagaev will take part in the tournament,” the press service has clarified.

The competition will bring together the strongest boxers from different regions and countries.

Prospects for development of interregional cooperation, strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties, as well as interaction in socio-economic sphere were discussed at the meeting between President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and the head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov.

Rashid Temrezov thanked President of South Ossetia for his visit and participation in the celebrations dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the founding of Cherkessk, the press service of the head of the South Ossetian state reports.

This significant day symbolizes the unity of spirit, wisdom and cohesion of the Chechen people, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev has noted in the congratulatory message to the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on the occasion of the Republic Day.
