South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev met with Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov. The South Ossetian Parliament plans to ratify the Treaty on Deepening Allied Cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia on May 21, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov announced.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev signed a Treaty on May 9 to deepen allied cooperation between the two countries.

"According to available information, our partners plan to ratify it on May 21," Alimov said at the meeting of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.

Further cooperation within the framework of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Crimea and the Government of South Ossetia was discussed at the meeting between the South Ossetian Ambassador Znaur Gassiev and the Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov.

The discussion focused on the implementation of the Agreement on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, according to the Information and Press Service of the Head of the Republic of Crimea.

The main topics at the latest Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting were security and humanitarian issues, as well as incidents on the state border. Yegor Kochiev, head of the South Ossetian delegation, reported on the meeting's results.

"During the meeting, we discussed pressing security and humanitarian issues arising along the entire border of the Republic of South Ossetia," Kochiev has clarified.

He has noted that the past period has been characterized by a relatively low level of violations.

Security issues at the South Ossetian-Georgian border will be discussed on Thursday at the meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).

The key topic of discussion in Ergnet will once again be the removal of the Georgian police post from the South Ossetian village of Uista, set up in late August 2019.

The participants will also analyze the current border security situation and review statistics on violations recorded since the previous meeting.

A large-scale "Immortal Regiment" march took place in Naples, Italy, on Sunday. Hundreds of people marched through the city streets carrying portraits of their ancestors who were fighting in the Great Patriotic War.

South Ossetia perceives Russia as its great homeland. This was stated by the Republic's President, Alan Gagloev, at the meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

"I want to emphasize that we, South Ossetians, perceive Russia as our great homeland. This is no exaggeration," he said.

Gagloev also stated that by signing the agreement to deepen its allied cooperation with Russia, South Ossetia is "taking a step towards unity."
