Russian Orthodox Church again brought humanitarian assistance to war-affected people in South Ossetia. IA RES learnt this from Oleg Kalimullin, Consultant of Department for Church External Relations.
According to him, “the humanitarian aid includes kitchenware and bed-linen (270 sets) and hygienic items, which were handed over to Humanitarian Commission of South Ossetia. It is desirable that this assistance goes to those who completely lost their housing in rural areas of the republic”.
“It is not the first visit to South Ossetia. Previously, we brought ambulance cars for the Republican Hospitla. Now, we are negotiating with the Ministry of Education of South Ossetia to provide school damaged during the Georgian aggression with all necessary items to ensure full-fledge classes there”, said Kalimullin.
“We met with those whose houses were burnt down, with the families of killed, and also with representatives of various ministries and agencies of RSO. All necessary assistance will be provided jointly with North Caucasus eparchies, representatives of churches abroad and various church structures”, said Kalimullin.
