South Ossetia does not need any additional legitimization, as any other internationally recognized states doe not need it. This is how South Ossetian expert Inal Pliev commented on the statement made by the Georgian State Minister Yakobashvili, who said that "Russia will not be allowed to legitimize so-called South Ossetia" and called for withdrawal of the forces of Russia from South Ossetia. "The Russian forces are maintaining peace in South Ossetia and protect the peaceful living of its residents. Georgia wants the withdrawal of the Russian force to bring its own forces and exterminate the people of South Ossetia, as it has already done before. For around 20 years, Russia was not present in the same capacity in South Ossetia as it is now, and it led to deaths of hundreds and thousands of people. The demand to withdraw the Russian forces is the demand to allow physical extermination of tens of thousand peaceful people. It is a demand of blood-thirsty people", stated Pliev.

"The Georgian political ideology is back to that of late 80s – early 90s, when the Georgian politicians described everything they disliked with a phrase 'so-called'. We are already in the 21st century, and over 20 years had passed since South Ossetian was subordinate to Tbilisi. During this period, major social and political changes took place in South Ossetia. The world political map underwent striking changes. Some of the states had disappeared, new states appeared. This is the life. It moves forward. It is impossible to preserve any situation, independently of somebody's personal attitude towards it", said Pliev.
He added that "South Ossetian pretty well know the awful price paid by the national minorities living in Georgia. The period under the inhumane suppression of Georgia, the period if total destruction and extermination of everything that belongs to Ossetians – from prohibiting the use of the Ossetian language to executions of representatives of Ossetian culture. To people like Yakobashvili, lives of humans means nothing. It is worth reminding his saying that in South Ossetia, Georgian armed forces killed too little Ossetians. Fortunately, thanks to great Russia, these savage people, the adepts of man-hating concept of suppression of ethnic minorities, can do no harm to South Ossetia."
"From 1992 to 2008, the Joint Control Commission has been working to settle the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. Throughout this period, neither Georgia, nor the western countries and international organizations that were backing Georgia, could present any legal document against the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. There is no argument of the kind, whereas the independence of our country is based on a thorough and strict observance of the for former Soviet laws and the legal acts of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, as well as on international law. Therefore, the statements against the independence of South Ossetia are inconsistent both from the legal point of view and common sense", said Inal Pliev. "I would like to also comment on Yakobashvili's statement on creation of uncomfortable conditions for South Ossetia and Abkhazia. In fact, he spoke about creation of unbearable conditions for the population of the tow countries. It comes close to violation of the Conventions on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide", underlined the expert.
"To put it simply, the statements of the Georgian officials once again demonstrate that Russia is the life and Georgia is the death", concluded the expert.
