Farmers in South Ossetia will get 500 head of cattle

Today 500 head of cattle have been delivered to South Ossetia from the Republic of Kalmykia. As reported to IA "Res" by the Acting Minister for Economic Development of South Ossetia Batradz Parastaev, selection of animals was carried out by the South Ossetian farmers jointly with the agricultural department of the Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia.

"At the present time 500 heads of cattle have been brought to Znaur and Tskhinval districts of South Ossetia, after a while the farmers of Leningor and Dzausky districts will also leave for Kalmykia to buy the total number of livestock," – Parastaev said. According to him, the cattle will be given to farmers for three years."At the end of deadline they will have to take the live weight of total number of livestock, bred by them earlier, to the meat-packing plant, the growth may be reserved for their profit" - he said. Parastaev stressed that the young animals are of meat strains of cattle, and by 2015 the number of the livestock will increase significantly. "I think that the action will provide substantial assistance to farmers", - Parastaev has underlined.
He added that the similar action will be arranged in 2012.
