Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia plans to start reconstruction of the mine in the town of Kvajsa in Dzausky district of South Ossetia. As reported to IA "Res" by the Economic Development Minister of the Republic Alexei Khabalov, at the initial stage of the reconstruction it is planned to assess the resources of the mine with the assistance of the Russian experts.
"According to our iinformation, the last time reserves were counted July 1, 1987, so that together with our Russian colleagues we hope to establish reserves of the mine. After a detailed investigation and conclusions of experts, we will take steps to implement this project, "- said Khabalov.
The Minister stressed the importance of the project, as well as in future the resumption of mining in Kvajsa would provide significant receipt of funds to the state budget and provide an opportunity to employ the citizens of the Republic. "Reconstruction of the Kvajsa Mine will revive the miners' town and provide jobs for local population. The mine is fertile in resources. In the future we also intend to cooperate with the Russian investors", - Khabalov has underlined. The Minister concluded that the fixed time of putting the mine into operation had not yet been determined.
