A prayer service was held in the Cathedral of the city of Sukhum in memory of those killed during the war of August 2008.
The event was attended by representatives of the Abkhazian leadership, the Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Mikhail Shurgalin, the South Ossetian Ambassador to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, director Tamerlan Dzudtsov, who is working on a production in the Abkhazian Theater, deputies, and the public.
In 2008, South Ossetia was shelled by the Georgian troops. On August 8, a five-day war was unleashed.
