The incoming President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov has taken an oath on the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Ossetian language.
"I swear in exercising the powers of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia to respect and protect the civil liberties, to respect and defend the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia, to protect the sovereignty and independence, security and territorial integrity of the Republic of South Ossetia, to serve the people faithfully" - Tibilov said at the solemn inauguration ceremony.
The Chairman of the CEC of South Ossetia Bella Plieva gave the Head of the State a certificate of the President of South Ossetia and the attributes of the state power: the seal with national emblem and the presidential standard. Under the Constitution of South Ossetia, during the Presidency the head of the Republic of South Ossetia must suspend his membership in political parties and public associations; the President of the Republic of South Ossetia cannot be a Member of Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, hold other positions in government, or business structures.
