South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov met with the President of the Republic of Nauru Sprent Jared, arrived in Tskhinval to take part in the celebration of the Republic Day. Tibilov has welcomed the guests, noting that people of South Ossetia are very hospitable and any holiday without guests - is not a real holiday.
"You are the first one of the presidents of the countries that recognized our independence, who have come for today's holiday. Therefore, I want to express a special word of appreciation, and in your person to greet the fraternal people of Nauru,"- said Tibilov.
He recalled that the leadership of the Republic of Nauru had supported South Ossetia in a difficult time and the Ossetians value ithighly.
"We know how to value friendship, and are confident that it will be strengthened for the benefit of our peoples," - said the head of state.
The President also expressed his intention to discuss current issues of strengthening relations between the two countries and their development prospects.
"The agreement in the field of culture and science must be implemented. We are always ready. I hope that our cooperation will continue to be successful,"- said Leonid Tibilov.
Nauru President thanked Tibilov for the invitation to this celebration.
"Our people, just like you, appreciate freedom and the opportunity to develop our country. We were very pleased to be invited to this celebration. Despite the great distance between us - we share the same values, "- he said.
Sprent Jared has added that he was amazed by the beauty of South Ossetia.
"I caught my breath as we passed the Roki tunnel. We were glad by the warm welcome that was given us here, "- said the president of Nauru.
President Tibilov has noted that the state was created in difficult conditions, but free spirit of the South Ossetian people led them to independence. He once again thanked Sprent Jared for the recognition of independence of South Ossetia.
In addition, for contribution to promoting peace and stability in the international arena, for supporting the state independence of South Ossetia and personal contribution to the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Nauru and South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov decorated Sprent Jared with an Order of Friendship.
"Let this award will be the evidence of mutual recognition of our countries and the realization of the agreements," – emphasized the president.
Nauru President has underlined that this award is a great honor for him; he has expressed the hope that the close ties with South Ossetia will last forever.
