Prime Minister of Abkhazia Leonid Lakerbaya has received Minister of Defenseof the Moldavian Republic of Transnistria Alexander Lukyanenko and First Deputy Defense Minister of South Ossetia Ibrahim Gasseev,- has reported the State News Agency of the Republic of Abkhazia "Apsnypress."
The meeting was attended by Minister of Defence of Abkhazia Mirab Kishmaria.
Earlier the defense ministers of Abkhazia, Transnistria and South Ossetia signed in Sukhum an agreement on cooperation between the defense ministries of the republics.
"I am glad that today has taken place such an important event. The signing of these agreements is another major step in strengthening our relations ", - said Leonid Lakerbaya, welcoming the guests, participating in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Abkhazian army.
Lakerbaya has emphasized that the foundations of the military brotherhood of South Ossetia, Transnistria and Abkhazia were laid by the volunteers from South Ossetia and Transnistria, who were standing shoulder to shoulder with the Abkhazian people during the war of 1992-1993. He noted that he knew many of them personally.
The Prime Minister thanked the heads of the military departments for coming to Abkhazia to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Abkhazian armed forces.
"God grant that we do not have a reason to use the armed forces in the war", - he has said, adding that no one is allowed to talk to the neighbors from a position of strength.
Leonid Lakerbaya recalled his visit to Tskhinval to the inauguration of the new President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov and the warm attitude of the Ossetians towards the guests.
"We have noticed special cordiality of the Ossetians towards Abkhazia. When we were leaving the building where the inauguration ceremony was held, people standing around began clapping. That is worth a lot, it is one more proof of love and friendship between our peoples,"- underlined Leonid Lakerbaya.
The Defense Minister of the Moldavian Republic of Transnistria Alexander Lukyanenko and Deputy Defense Minister of South Ossetia Ibrahim Gasseev congratulated the Prime Minister on the Day of the Armed Forces of Abkhazia and wished all the Abkhaz people peace and stability.
