The fourth round of talks on the delimitation of the state border between South Ossetia and Russia has started in Tskhinval. The meeting is being attended by the South Ossetian and Russian commissions on delimitation of the state border between the two states.
As noted at the beginning of the meeting by the RSO Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, the sides had done extensive work on the preparation of a draft agreement on the delimitation of the state border between the states.
"This document is an important contribution to the development of the legal relationship between our countries", - said Dzhioev.
He has noted that people of South Ossetia highly appreciate Russia's recognition of the statehood of the Republic.
"Shortly after this (August 26, 2008 - Ed.), in September 2008 between our two countries was signed a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, which was followed by signing of 66 intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents", - added the envoy.
In turn, the head of the Russian delegation, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Vadim Postnov thanked the South Ossetian side for the warm welcome and expressed hope for a fruitfulness of the ongoing negotiations.
"The previous meetings of our committees have been extremely fruitful, - emphasized Postnov. - Today we are, in fact, completing coordination of the significant agreement that will be a major instrument for the entire international community. We will be able to tell everybody about the relationship between our two independent states, its development, and also about the ongoing formation of the young state with the distinguished and legal boundaries."
The diplomat has added that after the signing of this Agreement it is planned signing of a number of other documents, including the demarcation of the state border between Russia and South Ossetia.
