He emphasized that the fateful decision of the top leadership of Russia became a symbol of justice and opened the way to a bright future for our people.
"Today we can live and develop with confidence in tomorrow.
The past years have become a time of creation and change. Tskhinval was restored, the entire Republic was rebuilt: hundreds of social institutions, roads and infrastructure were given a new lease of life. The economy and social sphere are developing, state institutions are being strengthened. All this became possible thanks to the fraternal assistance of the Russian Federation,” the text reads.
The head of state has emphasized that the past 17 years have shown that the choice made by Russia in 2008 was absolutely correct and historically fair. South Ossetia has proven its worth as a state, and the alliance with Russia has become the key to our security and confident future.
“Today we are facing new challenges — strengthening the economy, increasing the well-being of the people, further integration with Russia. And we will be solving them together, in the spirit of brotherhood and trust. The holiday of recognition of independence is not only a memory of the past, but also a guide for the future. We are obliged to pass on a peaceful, strong and prosperous South Ossetia to new generations,” Gagloev has noted.
The President has also stressed that recognition has become a solid foundation for friendship, trust and strategic partnership between South Ossetia and Russia.
"We have gone through the most difficult trials together and proved that the union of our peoples is capable of overcoming any difficulties. And as long as we are united, no any challenges can break us," he has concluded.
Other participants of the round table also made presentations.
